Flybound — Privacy Policy

Flybound is a flight-planning aid for general-aviation pilots. We designed it to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

• Location (optional): If you grant location access, we use your device location only to suggest a nearby home airport and to find fields near you. Your location stays on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
• Your settings and logbook: Your aircraft, home airport, personal minimums, pinned and visited airports, and preferences are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud, Apple syncs this data across your own devices through your private iCloud account; we never see it.

What we do NOT collect

• We have no user accounts and require no login.
• We do not use third-party analytics or advertising.
• We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not sell or share your data.

Weather and airport data

Flybound fetches public aviation weather (METARs/TAFs/winds) from U.S. government sources (aviationweather.gov/NWS). These requests include only the geographic area you're viewing, not personal identifiers.

Data retention and deletion

All personal data lives on your device (and your private iCloud, if enabled). Deleting the app removes it. You can clear your visited-airports log and weather cache from Settings at any time.

Children

Flybound is intended for licensed/student pilots and is not directed at children under 13.
